Where WADeRs Sail

Walter Wirth Lake - Home of the WADeRs deep in the heart of Bureaucrolis
Walter Wirth Lake is located in Cascade Gateway Park. The park is on land that used to be a gravel pit and was sold to the city in 1963. It was developed through the 60's and even had swimming facilities, food concession stands, and paddleboats until the DEQ came in 1976 and said 'Hey! This water is almost solid duck poop!' and closed the lake to swimming.

The lake is stocked with trout every year and the banks are often lined with fisher-people. It is a popular spot for a certain segment of Capitol City's population, so make sure you lock your vehicle and keep your valuables with you.

Cascade Gateway Park is very easy to get to: From I-5, take the Highway 22 exit and turn West - towards town. Turn South on Turner Road SE - the road that goes by the airport, Lowes, and Super Wal-Mart. The road to the park is just South of the Super Wal-Mart.

Coos Bay
PD Racers have been seen on Coos Bay. This is mighty big water with strong tides and all the dangers that come with near ocean sailing, so use your head. That water is frigging cold, too.
A great, free place to launch your PD Racer is the BLM Boat Ramp on the North Spit.
