And there you have it: 24 miles in slightly less than 4 hours. Not to bad for a box - with homemade, closet rod oars and all. I am very pleased with the Rumpus, very solid, very steady, and very serviceable. I have yet to put the window to any practical use - but it is there when I need it. The bad news is it is not really comfortable to row. Perhaps my sides are too low or my seat is too high, but I often rubbed the top of my thighs on the backstroke, and my legs were never really in a comfortable position. My oars are 7ft long - I wonder if they have to be longer? Shorter?
