I was kind of glad no one wanted to go sailing with me, as Yaquina Bay is some pretty big water and I hadn't ever sailed it before. There aren't many public ramps so I went to the Port of Newport on South Beach (south side of the bay). This was not where I wanted to put in, as the mouth of the harbor is quite close to the channel that leads out to the ocean. And while a PD Racer can be a lot of things, it ain't no ocean boat.
