As you can see, there was a bit of chop, and the wind was pushing at 12mph or so. I finally got rigged and took the camera back from Katherine. I decided to not take the kids with me - new boat, lots of wind, I was on the lee shore, etc. It just didn't seem prudent have yonkers in the boat when I really didn't know how she'd handle. I waved goodbye to them as they drove back to the campsite (my plan was to sail to them, then take people out on the boat.) Once they were out of the parking lot, I launched.
